How to Make
To prepare the frosting, combine evaporated milk, sugar, egg yolks, and butter in a saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened (about 10–12 minutes).
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, coconut, and pecans.
Let frosting cool until spreadable.
Spread frosting between cake layers, on top, and around the sides if desired.
Assemble carefully and allow the cake to set before slicing.
