Instructions:
- Prepare the cake:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a bundt pan or round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, oil, buttermilk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until combined.
- Gradually add the boiling water to the batter. The batter will be thin, but that’s okay.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Make the chocolate glaze:
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
- Add the cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Stir until the mixture is smooth and the sugar is dissolved.
- Remove from heat and let the glaze cool slightly before drizzling it over the cooled cake.
- Serve:
- Once the cake is completely cooled, pour the chocolate glaze over the top, letting it drip down the sides.
- Slice and enjoy your rich, moist chocolate cake with a glossy chocolate glaze!
